Ps 42 & 43

On the topic of Psalm 42 I would recommend you take some time and enjoy this sermon by John Piper on the topic.

Psalm 43 is a shorter version of Psalm 42. The Psalmist cries out for God’s aid against his enemies and wonders if God has rejected him. He begs for the ability to joyfully praise his God. The psalmist ends with the question, “Why are you downcast, O my soul…?” He is shocked at this feeling. Why!? Because God will save! There is no reason to be downcast with such knowledge.

Questions to Ponder:

*In these times there are many reasons to be downcast. Poor economy, friend and family strife, threat of pandemic flu, etc. Examine yourself to see how you are doing in this area, then find some verses related to salvation upon which to meditate. Meaning, read them over and over again and ponder them. If possible, memorize them.
