DAY NINETY-SEVEN – Leviticus 11-12, Psalm 13-14

Lev 11-12

Ok I won’t mention anything about a certain person changing to turkey bacon, because the Bible tells us on this chapter not to eat pig (well it was for the Israelites at that time)… I just won’t.

Anyway, now that you don’t know who I’m talking about let’s move on to today’s Scripture.

Leviticus 11 is where the LORD, in good detail, tells his people what to eat and what not to eat. He sets what is clean and what is unclean for his people to digest.

Leviticus 12 it’s about when a woman conceives either a boy or a girl, what to do after conceiving and the sacrifices that the woman shall do for atonement of sin and so on.

Psalm 13, 14

Is it me, or is every Psalm about faith and trust in the LORD? Nevertheless! Mr. David here is grieving and seems very distressful. He asks the LORD to not let him sleep the sleep of death lest his enemy shalt prevail over him. Bad Archaic English aside, Mr. David (as we should), trusts in God’s steadfast love and he shall rejoice in the LORD’s salvation.

Psalm 14, is as clear as day, or crystal. “The fool says in his heart there is no God.” How much clearer can you get? On that Psalm we can get a peek at the doctrine of man. The state that we are in because of sin, that we do no good not even one. All of us have turn aside and became corrupt. If this doesn’t describe men so clear, then I don’t know what does. But oh that salvation would come out of Zion! And it has. The Son has provided the only way to be saved. Saved from our corruption, from our evildoing, from sins, and most importantly from God’s wrath in eternal punishment.
