Bible Reading Plan (Day 27)

DAY TWENTY-SEVEN — Genesis 28, Matthew 27

Gen 28

We pick up where we left off, Issac is old and Jacob is slick as an icy road at midnight. To continue his deceit and protect his own neck Rebekah and Jacob tell Issac that he needs to go find a wife. Issac buys it and sends his son to his wife’s family to find a wife.

Esau stabs his dad in heart by taking a wife from the Canaanites.

(Reads verse 11) And I complain about MY pillow.

As God passed the covenant on to Issac he passes it on to Jacob.

Jacob is humbled and praises God.

Mt 27

We continue the narrative of our redemption. Really wish this was broken up over a few days.

Judas shows what metamelomai (wrong repentance) means.

Jesus stays silent when he had the opportunity to save himself.

Pilate tries to expunge himself of responsibility for the mess, but winds up deeply entrenched as he at last approves of the death of Jesus.

… … … I find so little to say from this point out that would in any way be pithy. Just: Here is your salvation!!

Afraid of a scam, the Pharisees pester Pilate to guard the tomb.

Questions to Ponder:

* Compare the giving of the promise to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.

* Have you repented of your sin and put your trust in the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ to forgive your sins? Will you?
